How Do I Use Dry-All?
Remove lid. If item you wish to dry out is small enough, place on sponge and close lid. (Example: rings, jewelry, coins, alarm hand held remote control).
If the item you wish to dry out is larger than the provided jar (Example: cell phone, PDA, MP3 player, TV remote control):
- You can get a Tupperware container that is slightly larger than the item you wish to dry out. Pour the bead into the Tupperware and place a paper towel over bead. Then place item on top of the paper towel and secure lid.
- You can get a Mason jar and pour the bead into the jar. Place a paper towl over bead. Place item on top of paper towel and secure lid.
If you need to dry out a desired area:
Place Dry-All in desired area and remove lid. Wait for bead to change to tan color. Then reactivate beads using Dry-All directions. Place newly reactivated Dry-All back into desired area.
If you leave the jar open, the bead will absorb much quicker requiring more reactivation. Once Dry-All has been in the area for some time the time in-between reactivation should shorten.
I dropped my cell phone in water. What do I do?
Do not turn on the cell phone! If you do you may destroy the electronics.
Take out the battery. Dry off the wet phone with a towel as best as possible.
Place the phone in a Tupperware container slightly larger than the phone with Dry-All in the Tupperware.
Close lid and wait 24 hours. If the item still seems damp, continue drying process. The longer you wait, the better the results.
Once all the moisture is all gone replace battery and turn on phone.
I have a gun safe or data safe. What do I do?
Find a convenient area for the jar in your safe. Place jar in the safe and open lid. The bead will stabilize the atmosphere in the safe. The bead will absorb the moisture and gasses. You will need to reactivate more often to insure a moisture free area. Keep watch on jar during the time and reactivate when needed.
Do safes create their own atmosphere?
Yes they do. A safe heats during the day and cools at night creating condensation. This condensation will ruin your valuables. This moisture collects on your valuables and slowly destroys them. Imagine you have a Will and insurance policies to protect your family. Now you need these important documents so you go to your safe, grab the paperwork, and it is brittle and falls apart. The damaging moisture from the safe has now destroyed your documents. You need Dry-All to protect important documents from a safe's damaging moisture.
What you should know about Dry-All indicating molecular dehumidifier
Dry-All is a mixure of blue indicating bead and a stationary white bead. When the blue beads have all turned to tan in color, it is time to reactivate your Dry-All.
Dry-All is the most effective drying agent in existence. Dry-All is not silica gel having a high affinity for sulphide contaminated atmospheres as well as other oxidizing gaseous compounds. Dry-All absorbs moisture and stablizes the atmosphere.
Dry-All is non-toxic, inert and non-flammable.
Dry-All contains an indicator (blue beads) which monitors the degree of activation (moisture capacity) of the desiccant. When the blue indicator beads change color to a tan color, this indicates that the desiccant is 75% expended and thereby all the beads much be reactivated.
Dry-All can be reactivated. Reactivation is the process of removing the moisture from the beads. This process will turn the tan beads back to blue. Once the beads are blue, they are reactivated.
To reactivate, follow these instructions:
You will need a 9" x 9" Pyrex pan only and hot pads. Do not use plastic containers.
Remove lid of Dry-All. Place all beads into a Pyrex dish, spread beads thinly.
Pre-heat the oven to 350 degrees. Heat beads for no more than 15 minutes per jar.
Remove from oven and place on counter on hot pads for 10 minutes to cool.
CAUTION - BEAD IS HOT.
Replace beads in jar. Close lid until cool, replace sponge.
Keep lid closed when not in use.
Dry-All can last up to 3 months before reactivation.
All of the Dry-All beads should be reactivated. When the blue beads turn tan in color Dry-All lets you know when to reactivate. All of the beads absorb moisture and gasses.
The 90 grams of desiccant in each jar will absorb up to 20 grams of water. At full saturation, one cubic foot of air will hold one gram of water, therefore each unit of Dry-All will accomodate 20 cubic feet of 100% RH atmosphere.
When Dry-All is reactivated with the recommended instructions, your Dry-All dehumidifier can last for years. Please follow all instructions completely.
The blue beads should be blue. If you notice the blue beads are dark in color - brownish black, the beads were burned during reactivation. If the beads are burned, they no longer work. Please dispose of the jar and purchase a new one to protect your valuables. Do not heat for more than 15 minutes per jar. | | |
